Different chemicals will attack different materials. Although TEFLON Coated Heater are just about impervious to everything, the cost may be prohibitive. This is why we also offer ELECTRIC IMMERSION HEATERS (that’s what they are called) in:
The heaters come in 2 basic styles: OVER-THE-SIDE and "L" SHAPE BOTTOM TYPE. Not all models are available in all styles. Please consult the factory for your application needs.
PLASTIC TANKS become FLAMMABLE when the SOLUTION LEVELS EVAPORATE leaving the IMMERSION HEATER "HOT ZONE" EXPOSED. We offer, FREE OF CHARGE, an Automatic Temperature Switch (ATS). This switch is designed to work with the TEMPERATURE CONTROL and LIQUID LEVEL CONTROL (L/C) with the MANUAL RESET (M/R). In the event the solution level evaporates, the tank develops a crack, fittings leak, etc. the level control and ATS will shut the system off. The system will stay off until the MANUAL RESET is pressed.
Of course, some routine maintenance is required to insure a safe operating system.
If your application requires TEFLON or QUARTZ the ATS is not available. Here’s why...
For TEFLON HEATERS...
If the solution level drops and exposes the heating elements ONE TIME,
the Teflon will blister off and the solution will chemically attack the
base metal of the heater. It is recommended that a temperature control
with a liquid level control (L/C) and MANUAL RESET be purchased.
For QUARTZ HEATERS...
Our Quartz heaters have replaceable/interchangeable heating elements. If
the Auto Temperature Switch was set for a fixed length of element and an
employee changed the element to a different length, then the ATS would
be rendered useless by the fact that the element is lower (or higher) than
the length of the ATS.
