The type "CB" Series is our "L-Shape" style. These heaters provide a more even heat distribution and a longer evaporation zone than the Over-The-Side style heaters. The "L-Shape" style heaters are recommended for applications that are 170°F and hotter, due to the rapid evaporation rate of the solution. These heaters are best designed to go in tanks that:

• Are long, skinny and shallow.
• Have large parts going in and out, causing rapid liquid level fluctuation.
• Can replace through-the-wall heaters.

The 2" diameter "L-Shape" Bottom metal heater offers a strong, resilient construction, able to withstand potential abuse from racks or baskets.

CB Series Features:

• 100% heliarc welded, insuring a liquid tight seal on the body of the heater.
• Standard 3' long non-metallic conduit with 16" lead wire. Optional lengths to 6’ are available.
• Sheath materials available are: steel(not UL listed), 304 & 316 stainless, titanium, zirconium, niobium and tantalum. Consult the chemical compatibility chart before ordering.
• Corrosion resistant plastic housing for maximum protection of wire connections.
• The standard electrical configuration is 3 Phase. Optional 1 Phase is available.
• Ground wire is provided.
• Auto-Thermal Switch (ATS) is an auto reset device that connects into the temperature control system for safer operation. See the Control Section for level safeties and Manual Reset Controls.

The type "C" Series is our Over-The-Side style. These heaters come with an all purged welded heater and junction box. UL, CSA (pending) and NEMA 4X rated. The 2" diameter over-the-side metal heater offers a strong, resilient construction, able to withstand potential abuse from racks or baskets.

C Series Features:

• 100% heliarc welded, insuring a liquid tight seal on the body and the junction box.
• Standoff bracket dividing hot and cold zone, serving as a minimum liquid level indicator.
• Standard 3' long non-metallic conduit with 16" lead wire. Optional lengths to 6' are available.
• Sheath materials available are: steel (not UL listed), 304 & 316 stainless, titanium, zirconium, niobium and tantalum. Consult the chemical compatibility chart before ordering.
• The standard electrical configuration is 1 Phase. Optional 3 Phase is available.
• Ground wire is provided.
• Auto-Thermal Switch (ATS) is an auto reset device that connects into the temperature control system for safer operation. See the Control Section for level safeties and Manual Reset Controls.

The Type "R" Series is our SCREW-IN TYPE HEATER.

INSTALLATION TIPS:
These heaters are designed to screw into a 2" NPT coupling. However, if your solution is the type that will "scale up" on the heater making it tough to remove, you may want to consider installing a 2 1/2" NPT coupling and get a reducing bushing. This will make removal easier.

If the heaters you require aren't in the list of 153 MODEL TYPES AVAILABLE, Call us, we'll make changes like... different voltages, 3 PHASE IN A SINGLE TUBE.

INSTALLING THE HEATER IN A PLASTIC or PLASTIC LINED TANK, OR A TANK WITH PLASTIC FUME REDUCTION BALLS ON TOP:
A complete heating system, for plastic and plastic lined tanks should consist of the following components:

1. An electric immersion heater (except for quartz). A Bottom Type heater is preferred over an Over-the-Side type. Supporting the last 1" of the heater will remove stress on the plastic coupling.
2. A liquid level safety device, which can be purchased with the temperature control system.
3. A temperature control system with a manual reset button.

INSTALLING THE HEATER IN A METAL (Steel, Stainless Steel, Titanium, Incoloy, etc.) TANK:

1. An electric immersion heater
2. A temperature control system
3. (Optional) Liquid level safety, A.T.S., and manual reset capability

The type "AQ" Series is our Quartz Heaters. These heaters work on the principle of Infrared Heating. The open coil element emits infrared radiation through the quartz tube. The infrared then exits the tube, while the radiation heats the solution in contact with the outer quartz tube.

The Quartz heaters are recommended for applications that are:

• Chemical baths with 1 to 7 pH level
• Chemically resistant to all acid solutions except hydrofluoric.
• Ideal for Sulfuric Acid baths.

AQ Series Features:

• Only heater with a Replaceable Element.
• 1/8" thick x 1-3/4" (nominal) OD dia. Quartz Tube with a screw-off plastic top.
• Polypro Plastic square cage designed for maximum protection against abuse.
• Black Indicating Line on cage to divide hot and cold zone, serving as a minimum liquid level indicator.
• Standard 3' long non-metallic conduit with 16" lead wire. Optional lengths to 6' are available.
• Corrosion resistant plastic housing for maximum protection of wire connections.
• The standard electrical configuration is 1 Phase.
• Ground wire is provided.See the Control Section for level safeties and Manual Reset Controls.

WIRING: These heaters come only in single phase. Three heaters can be purchased for wiring in three phase.

MODEL SELECTION: Purchase these heaters by tank depth first, and then buy multiple units for kW requirements.

PRECAUTIONS: Quartz is glass and is fragile. Handle with care. Do not bump the heater with parts. Wear gloves, goggles and other safety equipment.

NOTE: You must use liquid level controls and manual resets with this product. See the control section for the related products.

Lab type heaters are an inexpensive way for quick heating. They are not recommended for long term use or applications where direct personal attention to the process is not constant.
